Fall 2012

It's almost Halloween!  We just can't believe how quickly the year has gone by!  Here is how we have been spending our fall!

Josh and I (along with a suburban full of friends) drove down to Fort Worth, Texas to watch ISU play at TCU which was great fun!  We visited the Stock Yards, went to a concert at the world's largest honky tonk (you are jealous, right?) and watched ISU beat the Horned Frogs!  We loved Fort Worth, the fans were so kind (even after a loss) so we hope to make this a bi-annual trip!  The first full day we were there was beautiful; shorts and t-shirts weather with temps in the mid 70's.  The day of the game however was a different story.  It was a balmy 54 degrees! So, we traveled all the way to Texas for Iowa  football weather!  Oh well, it was still a great trip!

While mom and dad were off having fun in Texas, Cale was hanging out with his cousins Dalton and Karly!  They had a ball watching the ISU game on TV, watching Dalton play football and at a Halloween Party at the park in Mt. Ayr!

A friend of a friend who is a photographer had a "Cutest Little Pumpkin" contest earlier this fall so we took Cale up for a little fall photo shoot!  He did so well and the pictures turned out great!  Thanks to Creative Cousins Photography for taking such great pictures!  We just had our family pictures take this week by my neighbor and friend Laurie so I will post those when we have them back!!! 






My niece Bailey runs Cross Country for Harlan and we have been able to make it to several meets this year.  Cale just loves cheering on the girls and running around with Lauren and Katelyn!  They are having a great season and we are looking forward to cheering them on in Fort Dodge at the State Meet this weekend!  (Josh tells me that when Cale is in sports we will have to sit on opposite ends of the stands because I tend to get a little excited!) 

Hope everyone is ready for the cold weather because I think it is finally here for good!  It's a windy 37 degrees here today!!

The little things!

I can always tell when Cale is getting tired and about to fall asleep because he plays with the ribbons on his blanket and puts at least one finger through a loop! I have noticed this for a long time now, but just recently snapped a picture and had to share!

Cale was obviously paying attention at his cousin Bailey's track meets this last spring! 
Here is a little video of him getting ready to RACE! (Notice how he raises his arm as the starter would and then gets into his block!)  We might have a little athlete on our hands!

Catching Up!

Time to play catch up...again!
We have had a busy summer so I will try and get caught up over the next couple of weeks!  The last post I had was in March so we will start with April!  I will apologize now; these might be a little out of order.

Cale's 2 Year Stats:
32.4 pounds and 37.5 inches long!  Off the charts, again!

Obsessed with the iPad!

Cale has recently developed an obsession with my iPad. I researched the top rated iPad apps for toddlers and actually found some really good ones. He loves Fish School which teaches letters, numbers and colors. He likes the Wheels on the Bus app and of course LOVES Elmo's Monster Maker. This app does just what you would expect; makes monsters by placing eyes, noses, and hats of your choice on a monster. After you are finished accessorizing the monster there are different activities you can do. Sing songs, dance and take pictures! Apparently taking pictures is Cale's favorite. I found 240 pictures saved in my camera roll- mostly of monsters! Here are a few of his new friends!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Cale and I are sad we will be spending the evening without Josh since he is traveling, but we have a fun weekend at the annual Mardi Gras party planned!
I decided to attempt to "make" Cale's Valentine's for day care this year! (Thanks to Pinterest for the idea!)
